Weekend in Paris
If you are visiting Paris for a weekend and if its your first time; there are some must-see attractions that you cannot miss. This sprawling city has attracted droves of tourists for the past 25 years due to some of its most prominent attractions that have captured the imagination of the world.
Climb the Eiffel Tower
Nothing will prepare you for the grandeur of this beautiful structure. Its busy but even the long tourist lines and the souvenir selling peddlers cannot reduce the beauty of this must-see attraction. Want to have a special experience? Visit Eiffel at night. The 300m Wonder of the World lit up in all its glory sets the stage for an unforgettable experience.
Eiffel might be the top site to visit but Paris has much more to offer. Make sure to also pay a visit to the Arc de Triomphe, Sacre Coeur and many more must see attractions/monuments in Paris. We provide our list of top sites to visit here.
Visit The Louvre Museum

The first time we saw the Louvre was at night. The Louvre Pyramid in itself a glorious sight to see and it’s easy to forget that this art museum hosts some of the renowned paintings in the world including the infamous Mona Lisa. A must visit for any art lover. Not so much into art? Don’t worry, Paris has something for everyone including a Louis Vuitton museum.

Get cosy in a wine bar

The French love their wine. And they love their food. And one place where you can combine both is in a wine bar. The most famous ones in Paris don’t take reservations and are usually full by 6 so make sure you get there early especially during the weekend. You can choose from a selection of wines (some are actually connected to an actual wine cellar that you can walk into!); order tapas-like sides ranging from cheese platters to duck confit; settle into a warm booth and just enjoy the evening. No one will tell you to leave and it is often that many people stay well until past mid night enjoying good food, wine and company.
Enjoy a night ride in river Seine

River Seine is the highlight of Paris and should not be missed if you are in Paris for the weekend. This majestic river connects to the most famous attractions like the Louvre and Eiffel Tower and walking alongside it is the perfect way to explore the city. Though the river cruises are planned through the day; the night river cruise provides an experience unparalleled as you glide through lit bridges. It can get quite chilly so make sure to take some warm clothing!
Enjoy the French pastries

The French are well known for their delicate and delicious pastries. Make sure to take a break by stepping to a patisserie, grab a cup of coffee and a sweet treat. It is not about the pastry itself but the experience of connecting with loved ones and taking the time out of a busy day to enjoy the small things life.
Picnic at the Eiffel Tower

One of the things I enjoyed most during my last 3 Paris trips was also the most unplanned. Tired of walking; we decided to have an impromptu picnic at the park overlooking the Eiffel Tower. The warm weather added to the amazing experience but it is a must do if you have time and are looking for a low-budget lunch option.
